April 18th, 2008 | No Comments | Filed in 403b

It is Friday and somehow I totally forgot to post my 403-B/DCP report yesterday. But like they say, it’s better late than never and in this case I am late one day only. My (DFEMX) fund continues to be the powerhouse of my three funds bringing in most of the gains while my (FCPGX) and (FWRLX) continue to be the ugly ducklings. I am not giving up on them though, after all I have plenty of time on my side. Lets check them numbers, here we go.

Keeping My Eye On This One

April 16th, 2008 | No Comments | Filed in Investing

I have been keeping my eye on this stock forever but more so now that I can actually buy some shares. I am talking about Marvel (MVL), yes the comic book publisher and as you know I am a comic book guy. I remember when this stock was going for a dollar back when. The reason I am keeping my eye on this one is because Marvel has a couple of movies coming up that were 100% financed by them, if I am wrong on that please correct me. I am no movie reviewer but I do know what I like and I have seen the Iron Man trailers and I like them a lot and that movie is coming out next month. Then in June the Incredible Hulk comes out and If the movies do well and I think they will then that should reflect on their stock price. I am no financial analyst whatsoever but that is my theory and I am sticking to it. I am going to have to transfer some money into my Scottrade account and if I see a price that I like then I think I am going to be buying some Marvel stock, the price as I write this is $27.68 per share.

Weekly Investing Report

April 14th, 2008 | No Comments | Filed in Investing

Here we go with the weekly Investing Report. The week started as you can see from the graph but then things went down hill and in the end I ended up the week down $0.26 cents. Classic story huh, there is a big rally one day and the next day everything heads south taking most of the gains you had the previous day.

Scottrade Account (2)

I had no new trades this past week.

Shares stay the same,  8 Visa (V) shares, 10 Bear Stearns (BSC) shares, 10 Ford (F) shares and 20 Countrywide (CFC) shares.

I start this week with a total account value of $808.09

Tax Refund

April 11th, 2008 | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

Yesterday I received my federal income tax check. I was not expecting it because I figured that I would be getting it sometime in May, but I will take it anyway. I am going to take those $936 dollars and put them in the bank. Yes the same bank that is paying me about $0.07 cents or $0.06 cents, depending on the month, interest on the $384 dollars I currently have in my savings account. It used to be $400 dollars but how that became $384 is a mystery worthy of Unsolved Mysteries, do you remember that show?. I wonder how much interest I am going to get now. I am sure it is going to be a lot more than $0.07 cents but if for some unknown reason it turns out to be less than that I sure won’t be surprised.

So here we go with the first ever Investing report of the year.
