Weekly Investing Report 5/19/08

May 19th, 2008 | No Comments | Filed in Investing

The week was ok not good but just ok, check the graph and you can see that almost a flat line. I am not complaining because every time I don’t lose money it’s always good. My account was up again $.56 cents, not that much but up. I am hoping that this week’s gain is more, a lot more than those $.56 cents. If I were a betting man, and I am depending on the occasion, I would bet that things will  better this week. We’ll find out if I am right or wrong soon enough.

I start this week with a total account value of $1,296.37

May is here and that means that it is time for the first Investing report of the month. I only get paid twice this month and that is not right, I should be paid every day but enough of that. As you can see my DCP was up more than my 403-B and that is news, it is usually the other way around but like they say there is always a first time for everything. Time to check those numbers.

My Own Business, Part 1

May 14th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Filed in Business

Ever since I can remember one of my main goals in life has been to have my own business. The thought of not having to answer to nobody but myself is one that most everybody can relate to. At the moment I am working on two of those business ideas. One of them I’ve had ever since 1997 or somewhere around there and the second one is newer, I think I came up with it about a month ago. For the record, neither has anything to do with a blog but you could advertise in one that is for sure.

Now we all know that thinking and doing are two different things and nothing is going to happen unless I stop thinking and start doing. Well, I am doing and unless something major happens I have set a launch date for July 1st, 2008.

I could tell you about my plans but I am not going to for one simple reason, I don’t want you to fell like I am pushing them on you. After the launch date I am going to wait six months and then I will give you all the details. I will tell you if I am making money or losing money, what those business are everything and then you can check them out. Sometimes you have to take a risk in life and see if your risk pays off. All I can say right now is, stay tuned.

Weekly Investing Report 5/12/08

Thankfully I didn’t find any grammar mistakes on last week’s report but what does that have to do with investing?, absolutely nothing. The week started quite nicely as you can see from the graph and then everything started to go down from there. Friday was the worst day when I lost more than $30 dollars. At the end of the week my account was up $2.18 and although it isn’t that much it is a lot better than making nothing.

$550 To Invest

May 9th, 2008 | No Comments | Filed in Investing

Since I am not a rich guy (yet) I have to stick tightly to my budget. It can be a pain sometimes but since it’s part of my master plan I have to do it or risk falling behind. Enough of that, here is the deal. I save $50 from every paycheck and that means that I already have $400 but wait a second. What was that?, I got paid three times in April, true. And as a result of that I managed to save a whooping $150 dollars from that extra paycheck and that means that I have $550 dollars just sitting around being lazy and not working hard for me. I am going to keep those $150 at home just because you need some cash in case of an emergency. $100 will go to my savings account and earn a little more than nothing % interest (that is what all banks pay you, isn’t it?) and $300 will go into my Scottrade account as soon as I do some research to find out what stocks to get.
