$15 Dollar Late Fee!!

July 30th, 2008 | No Comments | Filed in Personal Debt

I was just having such a good time last week and maybe that is why I forgot to pay my Bank of America credit card bill before the due date the way I usually do. It was due on the 22nd of July, so there I was getting ready to pay my bill, I set up an automatic payment for $76.03 and then I read that if the payment was made before 5 PM the bill could be paid the same day. That is 5 PM Eastern time!!, it was a bit past 2 PM Pacific time when I set up my payment so I was late.

I checked the next day to see if the transaction had gone through and I found myself with a $15 dollar late payment fee, thanks Bank of America. I just couldn’t believe it until I saw it with my own four eyes, I meant eyes. I have only myself to blame for that late fee and I am going to make sure that it never happens again. I want to make money and paying late fees sure doesn’t help the cause.

Oil has been the number one pain for investors for a while now, it seems that every time it goes up stocks go down and as a result most of us have been losing money. Well, oil was down last week and thanks to that I finally made some money. My account was up $11.05 and that officially broke my four week losing streak. I am hoping this is the start of a winning streak, we’ll find out the answer to that soon enough.

Weekly Investing Report 7/21/08

Here we are, starting a new and hopefully very productive week. We can talk about that next Monday but for now lets talk about last week. I had a good week that I didn’t think was going to be good because the week started on the down side but picked up after that. My account was down again but not that much, I lost $1.41 and that makes it four weeks in a row that I have lost money. I also noticed two mistakes, in last week’s report I forgot to add the $200 to my total account value and instead of 7/7/08 report I dated it 6/7/08, apologies.
