$3.15

August 6th, 2008 | No Comments | Filed in Business

I have been putting ads in my new blogs from the beginning as you know. I like how ads look and that is one of the reasons I decided to go ahead and use them but the main reason has to be to make some money of course.

After five months I finally got my first check in the mail on June the 6th. The amount was $3.15 but wait there is more. On July the 7th I received my second check and the amount for that check was $2.75 and hopefully I am going to get another one today but I am not holding my breath to be honest.

Instead of cashing my first check I am going to frame it for one simple reason, it is the first and as you know “firsts” don’t happen everyday. The second one on the other hand, I am cashing that sucker today. This is the first time that my blogs have made me money when it usually is the other way around. Is that the mailman I see outside?………………………………gotta go.

Weekly Investing Report 8/4/08

I welcome the week and you can bet I’ll do my best to make it a very productive one. By the way, did you notice something different?, there will be an upcoming  post about that at Mydailymundo so keep your eye out for that. Anyway, last week started with  a bang as you can see from the graph and for a second I thought that it was going to end with a bang but that wasn’t the case. My account was up $22.26 for the week and hopefully this week will be a lot better than last.

Scottrade Account (18)

I had no trades last week.

My investments look like this now, 2 JPMorgan (JPM) shares, 3 Bank of America (BAC) shares, 8 Visa (V) shares, 10 Ford (F) shares, 10 Marvel (MVL) shares, 10 International Coal (ICO) shares and 10 Star (SBLK) shares.

I start this week with a total account value of $1,478.71

Financial Quick Hits 8/1/08

Exxon Mobil reported the largest ever quarterly profit in U.S. corporate history, the company had a profit of $11.7 billion dollars and that is a lot of money. I am sure all their shareholders must be quite happy. I wish I was one of them but sadly I am not but maybe someday I will be.

On a related note, the price of a barrel of oil is close to $123 dollars. The price of oil is considerably down from the record of $147.27 on July 11 of this very year. Some say that the price went through the roof because of speculators, I couldn’t tell you if that is true or false because I honestly don’t know.

A stock that I have been keeping my eye on and is on my watchlist is First Solar Inc (FSLR). I remember seeing this stock at about $250 not too long ago. From the graph below you can see that it has been on quite a ride since April. As I write this post the price is $285.03 which is too expensive for me but I do have a good feeling about this one.
