Weekly Investing Report 12/8/08

December 8th, 2008 | No Comments | Filed in Investing

The beginning of a brand new week and that means that the Weekly Investing Report is due and here it is. The market really behaved itself last week and that is good news, maybe it’s stabilizing a bit or maybe it’s just one of those too good to be true deals. I guess that we’ll soon find out, won’t we?. Lets get to the good stuff, my account was up $15.50 for the week and any time I don’t lose money I am happy. We have a full week of trading ahead and hopefully it will be a very good one.

Scottrade Account (36)

I had no trades last week.

My investments look like this now, 10 Ford (F) shares, 10 Marvel (MVL) shares, 10 International Coal (ICO) shares, 10 Star Bulk Carriers (SBLK) shares, 20 Visa (V) shares, 40 JPMorgan (JPM) shares, 40 Bank of America (BAC) shares and 70 National Bank of Greece (NBG) shares.

I start this week with a total account value of $3,685.17

No Gains But Plenty of Losses

December 5th, 2008 | No Comments | Filed in Investing

I was checking my account Scottrade account today just for the hell of it. Then I remember my plan to make some money with those financial stocks which were, and still are, very volatile. I even wrote a post about it that you can read here. They were up a bunch one day and down the next, but I fell asleep at the wheel and in the end I could only make 50% of my plan work. I had the up part, but when it came time to sell and realize a profit I was nowhere to be found. Sure I could have sold it early the next trading day but by the time the market opened those same stocks had fallen and taken my previous day’s profit with them. I sure missed a great opportunity to make some money and I have no one to blame but myself, and as a result I am in no position to make any good moves. I can always sell and claim a tax loss but I want to do a bit more research about that before I make that decision. Whatever happens you can be sure that I’ll let you know.

My ING Account

December 3rd, 2008 | No Comments | Filed in Investing

The last time I visited my ING account was when I transferred $300 dollars to my checking account to open my Scottrade account so that I could start investing and that left my account with a $7.24 balance. Well, I visited today just to se how everything is going and to my surprise, ok it wasn’t a surprise, my account is doing just fine with a balance of $8.02 so far. I know it isn’t much and to be honest I was hoping to see a balance of $20 million dollars but some wishes just don’t come true, oh well, something is better than nothing if you ask me. The next time I get a raise, hope it’s soon but I doubt it, I am going to begin putting some money into this account so it can start making me some money.

Weekly Investing Report 12/1/08

The long weekend is over and now it’s time to get back to business. The market has been acting nice lately and I don’t know exactly why, not that I am complaining. Anyway, my account was up, just check that graph, $770.00 dollars for the week and I don’t remember when was the last time that happened. I hope the market continues with that up trend this week as well, we’ll just have to wait and see, won’t we?.
