Weekly Investing Report 4/27/09

April 27th, 2009 | No Comments | Filed in Investing

The rally slowed this past week, for me at least, and as a result my account was down $431.50 for the week. I don’t like losing money but I understand that it happens sometimes and it just happened to me. Hopefully things will pick up once again this week.

I had no trades last week trades.

My investments, 50 Dow Chemical Co (DOW) shares, 100 Allied Irish Banks PLC (AIB) shares, 400 Citigroup (C) shares, 500 Fannie Mae (FNM) shares and 1500 American International Group Inc (AIG) shares.

Total Money Balance $    38.60
Investment Value $4,753.50
Total Account Value $4,792.10

My Own Stimulus Package

April 24th, 2009 | No Comments | Filed in Personal Debt

Stimulus this, stimulus that, that word seems to be everywhere nowadays. You turn on the TV, stimulus this, you read the paper, stimulus that; frankly I was feeling a bit left out so I am announcing my own stimulus package. Effective immediately $300 billion dollars will go towards paying my national debt which for some strange reason stays in the $500 dollar range and I am tired of it. No taxpayer money will be involved and I bet that you are oh so happy about that as you should. I am hoping that this stimulus package will cut in half my national debt as soon as the next due date is due which happens to be this coming Monday. I told you that extra pay check this month would come in handy.

Credit Card Stories

April 22nd, 2009 | No Comments | Filed in Personal Debt

The other day I received a letter from Bank of America, so I opened it up, read it and I have to say that I wasn’t surprised with what I read. I am quoting here, “We are raising Annual Percentage Rate(s) on your account. You have the right to reject this increase. Instructions on how you can reject this increase and pay off your balance at the old rate are included in the enclosed Amendment.” and that is not all, “We are adding or increasing certain transaction fees associated with your account.” This is the way that they treat good customers it seems, I pay a lot more than the minimum every month and this is what I get. I am going to call them up and reject the increase, now if I could only remember where I put that paper.

Now for a totally different side to a credit card company. I have been driving to work for the last two weeks or so and as a result I have to gas up the car and to do that I brought my Discover Card out of retirement because I get 5% back on gas purchases. Anyway, I used the card on a Friday night and the very next morning I get a call from Susan from Discover asking me if I had used my card, I answered yes of course. It’s nice to know that some companies really have your back while others just want to squeze as much money as they can from you.

Weekly Investing Report 4/20/09

The rally just keeps on giving and that is quite fine with me and everybody investing I assume. Now lets move on to the good stuff, my account was up only $1,007.00 dollars for the week. That is the biggest one week gain that I’ve ever had since I’ve been investing, it would have been more but Friday was a down day for me. I guess that when it rains it really pours except that I think that it’s barely drizzling so things will get much much better.

I had no trades last week trades.

My investments, 50 Dow Chemical Co (DOW) shares, 100 Allied Irish Banks PLC (AIB) shares, 400 Citigroup (C) shares, 500 Fannie Mae (FNM) shares and 1500 American International Group Inc (AIG) shares.

Total Money Balance $    38.60
Investment Value $5,185.00
Total Account Value $5,223.60
