Credit Card Stories

April 22nd, 2009 | Filed under Personal Debt.

The other day I received a letter from Bank of America, so I opened it up, read it and I have to say that I wasn’t surprised with what I read. I am quoting here, “We are raising Annual Percentage Rate(s) on your account. You have the right to reject this increase. Instructions on how you can reject this increase and pay off your balance at the old rate are included in the enclosed Amendment.” and that is not all, “We are adding or increasing certain transaction fees associated with your account.” This is the way that they treat good customers it seems, I pay a lot more than the minimum every month and this is what I get. I am going to call them up and reject the increase, now if I could only remember where I put that paper.

Now for a totally different side to a credit card company. I have been driving to work for the last two weeks or so and as a result I have to gas up the car and to do that I brought my Discover Card out of retirement because I get 5% back on gas purchases. Anyway, I used the card on a Friday night and the very next morning I get a call from Susan from Discover asking me if I had used my card, I answered yes of course. It’s nice to know that some companies really have your back while others just want to squeze as much money as they can from you.
