The Biggest Loser
September 12th, 2008 | Filed under Investing. As you know I have been whining about how much money I have been losing lately. Most of my stocks have lost money but none of those has earned the title of biggest loser and I hope they never will reach that point.
However, if we head on over to my 403-B there I find the biggest loser of them all. I invest $100 dollars every month and that money goes into my Dimensional Emerging Markets Portfolio fund(DFEMX) of which I own 51 shares, closing price as I write this post is $24.79 which is lower than when I first bought it which was around $26 dollars if I remember correctly. This year the fund has lost a total of $341.71 and thus it earns the title of biggest loser and things could get worse because 2008 isn’t over yet.
There is however a bright spot and that is that those $100 dollars will buy me more shares now that the price is low and when things turn around, hopefully real soon, I will make more money because of that volume thing I wrote about before, click here to read that post. In the meantime I am going to hang in there because that is the only thing I can do.
