To Buy or Not To Buy

September 17th, 2008 | Filed under Investing.

That is the question that is on my mind at the moment. If you have been a reader of this blog since day one or two then you know that I just recently realized that volume is the way to make and lose moola fast. That is why my most recent stock buy was for 70 shares and volume sure works because I have both made and lost money but that is ok.

That is why I have been drooling with excitement just thinking about the one stock I want more shares of and that stock is Visa (V). The price as I write this post is $66.35 which isn’t too bad, I originally paid $60.3750 per share if you include the $7 dollars I paid for the trade. At the moment I own 8 shares of Visa and if I could get 42 more I would be a very, very happy dude. Problem is I don’t have the money to buy those shares but what if I could get the money.

I am sure that if I ask a friend of mine he would loan me the money. I could also use one of those checks that come with your monthly credit card statement but the high interest rate sure makes that option not that appealing. I do know that $3,000 would be enough for 42 shares if the price stays at or under $70 dollars but time is not on my side. Why is that you ask, because if I can get the money today I would have to deposit it, then transfer that money to my Scottrade account and then the latest I could buy would be the next day and who knows what the price will be by then. Is getting those shares and going into debt worth it?, there is only one way to find out and if I do it you’ll be reading about it here.
